Lawn Mowing in Dallas–Fort Worth, Washington DC & Suburban Maryland, Northern Virginia, Atlanta, Greater Houston, Jacksonville & Northeast Florida
Lawn mowing is the one job that has to happen every week in season, and it does more for a lawn than most people expect. Cutting at the right height for your grass shades the soil, crowds out weeds and keeps roots deep through the summer. Our crews mow, string-trim around trees, beds and fences, edge driveways, walks and curbs, and blow every clipping off the hard surfaces. You pick weekly or every other week, and the same crew comes back on the same day.

How to tell if your lawn needs mowing
If you see two or more of these on your lawn, it is time to schedule lawn mowing.
- Grass is more than a third taller than its target height between cuts
- Tips turn white or brown a day after mowing, a sign of dull blades
- Bare or yellow patches where the mower dipped on high spots
- Grass creeping over the sidewalk and driveway edges
- Clumps of wet clippings left sitting on the lawn
- A letter from the HOA about lawn height
What causes scalped spots from cutting too low
Short answer: skipping weeks during the fastest growth of the year. The full list below is what our mowing program is built to fix.
- 1Skipping weeks during the fastest growth of the year
- 2Cutting warm-season and cool-season grass at the same height
- 3Dull blades that tear grass instead of cutting it
- 4Mowing wet grass, which clumps and ruts the soil
- 5No regular edging, so runners grow over the concrete
Your lawn mowing in three simple steps
- 1
Call for a price
Tell us your address and how often you want the lawn cut. Most quotes are given on the call, based on lot size and how much trimming there is.
- 2
First cut and setup
The crew walks the yard on the first visit, sets the deck height for your grass and notes gates, pets, sprinkler heads and anything they should avoid.
- 3
Same day every week
Your crew comes back on your scheduled day, mows, trims, edges and blows off the drive. If rain pushes a visit, you get a text with the new day.
When to schedule each lawn service
Timing drives results. Cool-season and warm-season lawns need different windows. Use this reference, then let a local pro confirm for your ZIP code.

What does lawn mowing cost?
Most lawn mowing quotes in the United States fall into these three bands. Your final price is based on lot size, access, and the add-ons you choose.
Small lot
$35 to $50
Up to about 5,000 sq ft of grass. Mow, trim, edge and blow-off.
Typical suburban lot
$50 to $75
About 5,000 to 10,000 sq ft, with normal trimming around beds and fences.
Large lot
$75 to $150+
Quarter acre and up, slopes, or long fence lines. Priced after a look at the yard.
What drives the price
- Lot size. The square footage of turf sets most of the price.
- Frequency. Weekly visits cost less per cut than every other week, because the grass is shorter each time.
- Trimming. Fences, beds, play sets and trees add string-trimmer time.
- Slopes and access. Steep banks and narrow gates may need a smaller mower and more time.
- Bagging. Clippings are mulched by default. Bagging and hauling them off costs extra.

Mowing glossary
Plain-English definitions for the jargon you will hear from any lawn pro. Bookmark this for your next quote.
- One-third rule
- Never cut off more than a third of the blade at once. Cutting more stresses the grass and browns it.
- Deck height
- The height the mower is set to cut at. It should change with the grass type and the season.
- Scalping
- Cutting so low that stems and soil show. Done on purpose once on dormant Bermuda in late winter, a mistake any other time.
- Mulching
- Chopping clippings fine and leaving them on the lawn, where they break down and return nitrogen.
- Edging
- Cutting a clean vertical line where the lawn meets concrete, so runners don't creep over it.
Common questions about lawn mowing
Most suburban lots cost $35 to $75 per cut on a weekly schedule. Price depends on how much grass there is, how much trimming the yard needs, and how often we come.
More mowing questions
The deeper questions homeowners ask after the basics. Answers come straight from our licensed field crews.
Weekly in peak season. Waiting two weeks usually means cutting off more than a third of the blade, which stresses the grass and leaves clumps of clippings.
